K ey Stage 3
Spanish is taught in the school from Year 8 onwards. On entry to the College students select 2 modern languages to study at Key Stage 3. The main textbook used is Amigos.

Key Stage 4
There are 3 groups of approximately 25  students in Years 11 and 12.  The main textbooks for Key Stage 4 are ARRIBA 3 and ARRIBA 4 although other resources are frequently used to test the 4 skills.

Post 16
The number of students opting to do post 16 Spanish has ranged from 8 to 22 over the last few years.  Various resources are used in the delivery of the curriculum at this stage and students also have 2 classes per week with Guada, the Spanish assistant.  They are also encouraged to spend the Summer of their Lower 6th Year at one of the courses available for A-Level Spanish students i.e. in Salamanca or in Málaga.

Extra-curricular
The department has links  with a school in Huelva called the Pablo Neruda.  Exchanges and visits have been organised over the years with particular emphasis on post-16 students.  Spanish trips are also organised for the Key Stage 3 and 4 students, the last two of which have been to the region of Catalonia
