The community service programme in the College provides valuable links with the local community.
A group of Sixth Form students visit weekly the following places:
· Tor Bank Special School
· Longstone School, Dundonald
· Marie Curie Centre
St Vincent de Paul Society
Within the college there is a very active Saint Vincent De Paul Society. It exists in the College to give pupils the opportunity to experience apostolic work by stimulating awareness of the needs of the community and to encourage a practical response.
The society has two conferences – one in the Junior School and one in the Senior School. Both conferences meet weekly at lunchtime in order to plan and coordinate their programmes.
At present the society is involved in a visitation programme with the residents of Towell House, King’s Road, on a weekly basis after school.
The society also organises seasonal concerts for the pupils of Tor Bank Special School and the residents of Towell House.
