France

Links with France are encouraged right from Year 8 where pupils have the opportunity to establish pen-pal links. Home-stay visits to the Loire Valley are organised every other year in the month of June for pupils in Years 9,10 and 11.  Year 13 students have the opportunity to participate in exchange visits to our partner school in Besançon through the Lingua programme and the links are maintained through e-mail.

Germany

Links with Germany / German-speaking countries are encouraged. Juniors can correspond with pen-friends and a link is currently being developed with a school in the Aachen area. A school trip is organised to the Rhineland for June 2000. Year 13 students are going to German families this summer.

Spain

The Department is currently linked  with a school in Huelva called the Pablo Neruda.  Exchanges and visits have been organised over the years with particular emphasis on post 16 students.  Spanish Trips are also organised for the Key Stage 3&4 students, the last two of which have been to the region of Catalonia.
