EMILIE WOWS THE ENVIRONMENTALISTS!

Y9 STUDENT WINS NI PUBLIC SPEAKING TITLE

Emilie Dorrian 9(7) has become the worthy 2012 winner of the Northern Ireland-wide Environmental Youthspeak Competition by dazzling the judges with an entertaining and informative five-minute speech on the problems and solutions of electronic waste.

Under the guidance of Miss R. Collins and Mr O’Hare, Emilie sailed through the Castlereagh Council heat to represent the borough at the NI Finals.

For her great work, Emilie was rewarded with a Kindle, £180 worth of vouchers for herself, £500 and a wormery for the school. Emilie also returned to the College  with two trophies (made from recycled and reclaimed materials – of course) to mark her triumph.
