1) Students must wear the full uniform going to and coming from College, in the College and at all College functions unless otherwise permitted by the Principal of the College. Students must adhere to the College regulations regarding their personal appearance, tidiness and cleanliness.
2) Students must observe perfect behaviour while going to and from school. Any behaviour (over boisterous play, bad manners, etc.) even outside school hours which would bring discredit on the College will be treated with the utmost seriousness.
3) Students may not use the name of the college for functions unless they have obtained the permission of the Principal.
4) It is the duty of a student to inform the General Office immediately of any change of address or telephone number.
5) Students who wish to take cars or motor-cycles to College must apply for permission on the appropriate form, obtainable from the Students Office. Students in cars, on motor-cycles or cycles are limited to 5mph while in the College grounds. They are forbidden to use such vehicles at any time during school hours. The parking places are out of bounds to all except vehicle owners and to them only on arrival and at departure from the College.
6) Students are permitted to enter and leave the College by the main gate and to be only in those parts of the College indicated in their timetable and in the authorised play-areas during school hours. Areas which are out-of-bounds are outlined in the College Diary.
7) Students will not be permitted in the College outside school hours unless they are supervised by a member of staff.
8) Students are forbidden to leave the College grounds during school hours unless they have obtained permission and signed the Early Departure Book.
9) Students must not use a Service Bus at the end of the school day. Students who normally travel by the College bus must not leave the College on foot.
10) Students may visit the toilets only during recreation. Permission from a teacher is needed to visit at other times. Students are forbidden to loiter in the toilets.
11) Students are forbidden to take to the College any article, book or paper that is not required for their duties at the College. In particular they are forbidden to have in their possession the following articles:- (i) chalk (ii) cosmetics (iii) whistles (iv) personal stereos, computer games (v) cigarettes, tobacco, alcohol, illegal substances (vi) correcting fluid e,g Tippex (vii) chewing gum (viii) pen-knives (ix) laser pens (x) matches or lighters (xi) mobile phones ( except with the permission of the Vice Principal) (xii) aerosols
12) Students must have their names inscribed on the following articles:- (i) all books (ii) all items of clothing (iii) articles of P.E. kit (iv) calculators and pencil-cases
13) Students are forbidden to enter a class room except when their teacher is present. They should queue in an orderly fashion in the corridor
14) Students must never throw any object. They must never throw paper or any such litter. Full use should be made of the litter bins and baskets provided
15) School bags, books, P.E. kit etc. should not be left in the main entrance except on such occasions as are specified.
16) Students must attend classes or study-periods as set out in their timetable. To be elsewhere without permission is forbidden. They must move punctually and in an orderly fashion to their various duties when the bell sounds. Students must walk on the right hand side of corridors.
17) During recreation ball-games may be played only in the designated areas.
18) Any accidental damage to College property must be reported immediately to a member of staff. Any one deliberately damaging College property may be expelled.
19) Students must obey the instructions of teachers at all times and of prefects when they are in the discharge of their duties.
20) Students who are sick must report to the College nurse. They must not absent themselves from class except under the direction of the Nurse.
21) Students who are absent for any reason must on their return to the College submit to their Tutor a written explanation from their parents. If the absence persists for three days or more, the Students Office must be informed, before the student returns, of the reason for the absence. Either a letter or a telephone call will be acceptable. The student must still, upon returning to the College, submit to her/his Tutor a written explanation from his/her parents.
22) Students who have urgent messages from home may use the coin-box telephone. Apart from members of the Sixth Form, students wishing to use the telephone must obtain permission from one of the Vice- Principals.
23) Students are required to arrive at the College in time for Morning Tutorial. Students arriving late to the College must report to the Students Office immediately and to the Head of School at the time stipulated.
24) Students may obtain textbooks etc. only at those times arranged. A student who wishes to pay fees etc. to the General Office must do so before Morning Tutorial or at Morning Break.
25) Textbooks are the property of the College. Students should keep them in good condition and return them to the College when requested to do so.
26) Students who are given a locker key must pay £1.00. If this key is lost he/she must obtain another from the person in charge of lockers and pay another £1.00. The key is the property of the College and must be returned at the end of each school year when all lockers should be emptied. No student is permitted to: (i) have in his/her possession another student’s key (ii) have a copy made of his/her key or any other student’s key (iii) leave food of any description in a locker over night (iv) use any locker than his/her own for storage (v) leave class to obtain a book from a locker These rules are subject to amendment by the Principal |
