Honour ties are awarded for both outstanding achievement in individual and team sports, both inside and outside the school setting. They are also awarded for outstanding achievement in Music, Irish dancing etc. Any student who thinks he/she meets the criteria for this award should notify her/his class tutor and collect a registration form from the Head of School. The form should be completed and returned to the Head of School at least one month before the relevant prize giving ceremony. Ties are awarded THREE times per year at the awards ceremony for the Junior School (October), Senior School (November) and Upper School (December) for achievements during the preceding school year ie. September to June. Only students who are awarded an Honour tie may wear it instead of their regulation College tie. A suitable recipient should fulfill one of the following criteria: EITHER He/she should have gained either Schools or Full representative honours at any ONE of the following LEVELS Northern Ireland Ulster Ireland Great Britain European World OR He/she should have won a competition at the highest grade/standard at which our students are entered at ONE of the above LEVELS. Ties are not awarded for representation or success at District or County levels. |
