 Spiritual

Central to the life of the College is prayer. During the liturgical seasons of Advent and Lent additional liturgies are provided when needed. On a number of major feast days Mass is celebrated for the entire College community in the College Hall and Sports' Hall. On such occasions guest priests, often from neighbouring or feeder parishes, are invited to celebrate the liturgy

As in all Catholic schools, the intention of the College is to build on the faith already laid down in the home.  The Religious Education Department of Our Lady & St Patricks College, Knock has as its primary objective the development of the students spirituality in order to equip him or her for the rigours and the full enjoyment of life. It approaches this task in a holistic way in an attempt to enrich all the dimensions of the students school life.

A comprehensive programme has been designed to meet all the needs of the developing young person.  This programme includes a strong pastoral dimension, including a retreat experience.  The programme also seeks to promote awareness, sensitivity and respect for other sincerely held beliefs.

College Prayer

Lord God,

You have brought us to a new day.

Give us the grace today to work for your glory,

and for our neighbours good;

so that all we say and do,

and think and pray,

may make this day,

a perfect gift.

Amen

Lord, make me a better person,

more considerate towards others,

more honest with myself,

more faithful to you.

Make me generous enough to want sincerely to do

your will, whatever it may be.

Help me find my true vocation in life

and grant that through it I may find happiness for

myself and bring happiness to others.

We ask this through Christ Our Lord.

Father in heaven,

may the love of Mary be

an inspiration to us all,

to follow Jesus more closely,

that we may have life to the full.

May the faith of Patrick grow strong within us,

as we begin this new day.

We make this prayer through Christ Our Lord.
