The college library is a well stocked, expertly run, working library, providing excellent library and study accommodation. Housing approximately 15,000 items covering the whole subject range, the system is computerised so that any item can be traced immediately.
There is a full time Librarian and this ensures the students can avail of centralised resources from 8.45am-4.30pm each day.
We work really hard to bring you an excellent first rate service, to the extent that we run the college library in the same way as any public library offering you many of the same services.
Our library is full of good informative and enjoyable material, we choose carefully to make sure it fits the needs of our borrowers. Our stock is constantly being replaced and updated-you only have to look at the shelves to see for yourselves!
Take a good look around the library and you will see all the things you can borrow. There are DVD’S, Talking Books, Magazines, and Newspapers.
Our policy is that “Everything can be borrowed”
When you join the school each pupil is issued with their own personal library card which can be used every day.
If you like reading check out the book stock in the library. Our aim is to provide you with an excellent choice of fiction to keep you all interested and supplied with a consistent range of good quality material.
We work closely with our readers and are always open to ideas of what they would like to see in the library and we are always trying to improve our service and provide the best we can.
SERVICES
During the school day in the library you can avail of a whole range of services.
The librarian is there to help you search for any information you might need e.g. school projects, art work, hobbies, homework etc.

CAREERS LIBRARY
An important part of the College Library is the Careers Section. It is well stocked with everything you need to know about choosing a career, or which University courses to pick. There is also practical advice on how to perform at interviews, how to pass aptitude tests and even how to write personal statements.
The Year 10 Employability students have regular classes and access to the Careers Library. Then the senior school have full access to all the facilities and are encouraged to use the websites promoted in the library.
Try following the links for yourself, for some really useful information!

For pupils interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) there are two really useful sites to check out.
www.futuremorph.org
www.stemnet.org.uk
As with all other aspects of the library, if there is something you need or want and can’t find it, just ask the Librarian.
