Students at the College sit the first half of their A-Level, their AS-Level exams, at the end of Year 13. Students will be entered by their teacher and receive an individual examination timetable before Easter. To view a general timetable before then, click on the link below. T o obtain a general timetable you will need to know the Exam Board used for the subject you are studying. (A comprehensive list of AS-Level module codes and links to the exam boards can found by clicking on the link below.) CLASHES When candidates receive their timetable some individuals may find that two of their exams are scheduled to start at exactly the same time. This is unfortunate but unless the total for the two exams goes over three hours they will simply sit the exams one after the other. If the total time for the two exams goes over three hours, a timetable variation will have to be made. This means the candidate will sit one exam in the morning, followed by a period of isolation. The candidate will be able to have lunch and study for their afternoon exam but they will be supervised throughout. It is important that the candidate discusses the arrangements for isolation with Mrs Knight or Tara in advance of the exam. CASHING-IN When year 13 students are entered for modules in each of their subjects they are also entered for a CASH- IN code. This means they will receive a grade on their results slip in August. This grade will be declared on UCAS applications and can be useful in persuading universities to make conditional offers. Although it is College policy to automatically “cash- in” AS-Level grades, students can opt to defer cash in until they see their results in August. For more information on the advantages ad disadvantages of Deferring cash-in, click on the link below. If you wish to defer cash-in, fill in the form below and submit to the main office by February 14th. RESULTS Results will be posted out and should arrive on Thursday 19th August, 2010. Students may also collect their results from school after 11am on that day. REMARK You can ask for your paper to be remarked or simply request a copy. Both services incur a cost. Download the form from the link below. The deadlines for these services are final and must be adhered to!! RESITS If you wish to re-sit an AS module you will have an opportunity to do so in January and June of Year 14. You should discuss any re-sits with your teacher on induction day in August. They will offer you advice on what is realistic given the demands of you’re A2 course. A fee will be charged for each paper you re-sit. See Year 14 page for more details
