Students at the College sit the
first half of their A-Level, their AS-Level exams, at the end of Year 13.
Students will be entered by their teacher and receive an individual examination
timetable before Easter.
When candidates receive their timetable
some individuals may find that two of their exams are scheduled to start at
exactly the same time. This is unfortunate but unless the total for the two
exams goes over three hours they will simply sit the exams one after the other.
If the total time for the two
exams goes over three hours, a timetable variation will have to be made. This
means the candidate will sit one exam in the morning, followed by a period of
isolation. The candidate will be able to have lunch and study for their
afternoon exam but they will be supervised throughout. STUDENTS
SHOULD BE AWARE THAT NO MOBILE PHONES OR ELECTRONIC DEVICES ARE ALLOWED DURING
THE PERIOD OF ISOLATION.
It is important that the
candidate discusses the arrangements for isolation with Ms Todd in advance of
If you wish to re-sit an AS
module you will have an opportunity to do so in January and June of Year 14.
You should discuss any re-sits with your teacher on induction day in August.
They will offer you advice on what is realistic given the demands of you’re A2
course. A fee will be charged for each paper you re-sit. Information regarding
the cost of re-sits, and how to apply will be made available in due course.
Results for summer modules will
be posted out and should arrive on Thursday 14th August 2014. Students
will also be able to collect their results from school after 10am on that
day. Results will not be given over the telephone or sent via email.
