Library
The college library is a well stocked, expertly run, working library, providing excellent library and study accommodation. Comprising items covering the whole subject range, the system is computerised so that any item can be traced immediately.
There is one full time Librarian and this ensures the students can avail of centralised resources from 9.00am-4.30pm each day.
The needs of the complete school are met in the library from Year 8 right up to Year 14, students and staff included.
Much planning and work makes it a well run, comfortable environment to enable the pupils to make the best use of it as both a library and as an area of study for the Upper School.
From Year 8 pupils enjoy library instruction which provides them with a good background for getting the most out of their library. We hope these skills will stand them in good stead as they approach either further education or their chosen careers and give them the confidence to go out and be able to search and find information easily.
We are also in a very fortunate position to have a specialised Junior Library which caters for Years 8-10, where all stock is chosen to suit younger readers. We work closely with the junior readers and are always open to ideas for improvement.
Throughout the day the students have access to nineteen computers, all with internet facility. Each of the computers is linked to both a colour and a b&w printing facilities.
An array of services is offered including b&w photocopying, colour photocopying, scanning, stationary supplies etc. A good range of magazines supplement our extensive book stock as does our large collection of DVD’s.
Our ethos is to provide an excellent first rate library, continually updating and improving our service for the whole school.
