In November We Remember

November Remembrance Service

This term we welcomed Sister Marie Doyle to our school as Chaplain; specifically appointed by the Bishop. Working with Mrs P. McCarthy (Teacher Chaplain), the Upper School Chaplaincy Team and the Religion Department, she organised and led a November Remembrance Service in our Oratory. We have recorded this liturgy and have used it with all our students through their Religion class. In this way, we have been able to come together (virtually) to remember those who have died and gone before us, and pray for strength during this difficult time.

The students who took part in the Service belong to the Upper School Chaplaincy Team who continue to work during this period of restrictions. Music was supplied by Mrs P. McCarthy, Teacher Chaplain and Ms. A. Fox from the Religion Department. Sister Marie made the Book of Remembrance and the accompanying display; and led us in prayer. The Tree of Remembrance was dressed with leaves produced by the students in their Religion class. Each leaf contained the name of someone we wished to remember in our prayers.

The Service is embedded below. Please join us in prayer.

A special word of thanks to Sister Marie. Her impact is clear even in such a small period of time. We welcome her among us and we look forward to further developing the spiritual and liturgical life of the College through her guidance and support.

Mrs P. Rainey
